WHY BUY CBD WATER WHEN YOU CAN MAKE YOUR OWN?
There are several benefits of making your own CBD Water – you can save money, save on waste, but not scrimp on quality. What are you waiting for?!
Save on money: On average, a can or bottle of CBD water in the UK costs £2.50. 1 dose of our Water Soluble CBD is 72 pence. It’s worth understanding that the quality of CBD is important so you know what you’re paying for, but in short 6mg Full Spectrum CBD is the equivalent of 12mg of CBD Isolate (Which is what you will find in all CBD Drinks and CBD Water that isn’t The Tonic’s brand).
Save on Waste: It’s great that Cans can be recycled and that plastic bottles are more often made from recycled plastic. But plastic has a short recycle life and at some point soon still ends up in land fill. And the process of recycling cans uses a lot of energy. So if you can add your CBD to your glass of water, reusable coffee cup, sports bottle, smoothie, gin and tonic even, then think how much waste you’ll be saving on creating!
Quality – know what you’re paying for:
There’s a 3 tier quality of CBD; Full Spectrum CBD (best quality), Broad Spectrum CBD (mid quality) and CBD Isolate (also known as Pure or Narrow Spectrum). All are effective, of course, but as with most things, the better the quality, the less you will need to take to get the effects.
All CBD Drinks and CBD Water I have seen on the UK market contain CBD Isolate – this is because it mixes well with liquid, is absorbed by the body more easily than a regular CBD oil (and is very cheap so brands can maximise profit).
Regular CBD Oil should not be mixed with drinks as the absorption rate is diminished massively – 4% to 25% absorption rate in fact.
The Tonic’s Full Spectrum Water Soluble CBD is totally unique and the only full spectrum CBD designed to be ingested so you can add it to any drink or food while it retains its 100% absorption rate! Because of the full spectrum quality, a 6mg dose of our 4% Water Soluble CBD is equivalent to 12 to 18mg of CBD isolate, which is what you will find in all CBD Water’s on the UK market.
WHAT IS CBD WATER?
Adding CBD to water makes…CBD water! However, it’s really important to understand which type of CBD to use to get the best effect and not waste CBD (or money!).
Let’s start with how your body absorbs CBD…when CBD is extracted from the hemp plant it is a very thick and dark lipophilic oil. You body struggles to process lipophilic oils so when you ingest CBD oil you only absorb 4% to 20% of the actual CBD content. This is why you are recommended to take CBD Oil sublingually (under the tongue), where the CBD is absorbed directly into the blood stream via the sublingual membrane.
Most CBD Drinks brands use what’s called CBD Isolate (aka Pure or Narrow Spectrum). This is a form of CBD which contains the 1 cannabinoid, Cannabiderol, unlike Full Spectrum which contains many different cannabinoids, terpenes and flavinoids. The isolation process makes a dry, powdery form of CBD which can be dissolved in liquids, which is great for making CBD Drinks. This does mean that you are losing the quality and entourage effect of full spectrum CBD, but you will still notice benefits like a sense of calm and deeper sleep.
Most CBD Water and CBD Drinks contain 15mg of CBD. This is a good daily average dose for general wellbeing.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF CBD WATER?
The main benefit is the convenience of it and avoidance of the strong taste of regular CBD Oil.
Adding CBD to a bottle of water or other drink is a lovely, steady way to get CBD into your system. A good example of this is when you’re at work and want to keep a steady, calm mind to focus on what you’re doing and keep the stress levels low. Some people prefer to get a high amount in their system fast, so taking an oral shot is the best way to do this – you may need this when anxiety hits you hard in the morning before you head out the door, or at night when you want to get off to sleep.
If you have a little CBD in your system every day, it’s more effective and efficient than taking is as and when you feel you need. Regular dosing can act as a preventative to anxiety, pain, disturbed sleep etc, rather than waiting for the issues to arise first.
